Find a quiet place and take time to relax

• Pray that God will open your eyes and your heart.  
• Take time to thank God for all the blessings he has given you.  

Psalm 7: 1 - 5 (ESV)

O Lord my God, in you do I take refuge; save me from all my pursuers and deliver me,lest like a lion they tear my soul apart, rending it in pieces, with none to deliver.

O Lord my God, if I have done this, if there is wrong in my hands, if I have repaid my friend with evil or plundered my enemy without cause,let the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it, and let him trample my life to the ground
and lay my glory in the dust. 

Refuge is a place of safety, a place of protection.  Fo us it would be like going to your basement during a tornado.  Having a safe place releases tension and anxiety.  It eases our minds and makes us the situation we are in a lot better.  Are we still scared or frightened?  Yes but we would a lot worse if we did not have a place to go.

David is going through a time worse than a tornado.  There are people after him trying to take his life.  In this moment he cries out to God for safety and deliverance.  He adds something a little more, he tells God if I have done wrong without knowing then let them come and kill me.  

What an unbelievable cry out to God, one for safety and deliverance but also justice.  

Mediate 

• Have you ever prayed to God for safety?   
• Have you ever asked God to deny your prayer? 

Prayer

Glory be to the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.  As it was in the beginning, is now and forever will be for eternity.
